Toyo Ink Australia is committed to providing a healthy and safe workplace for all employees and visitors.
Resources will be allocated by the company to occupational health and safety in order to comply with all relevant legislation to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all employees.
The company will address accident prevention and control, hazard control and rehabilitation as priorities.
Occupational Health and Safety is both an individual and collective responsibility of all employees. This company places safety on the highest priority. The following responsibilities are essential to the success of the policy.
Management’s Responsibilities
Management is responsible to:
· integrate occupational health and safety into all aspects of the workplace;
· promote communication about occupational health and safety as a normal component of
all aspects of work;
· plan, develop, implement and monitor an occupational health and safety program;
· take effective action to provide and maintain a healthy and safe workplace;
· co-operate with, support and promote occupational health and safety in the workplace;
· provide education, training and equipment necessary to undertake safe practices in such
areas as chemical handling, manual handling, and in the use of both vehicular and
stationary machinery.
Conduct of employees
Employees are responsible to:
· work in a healthy and safe manner;
· encourage other employees to work in a safe manner;
· discourage other employees from working in an unsafe manner;
· co-operate with all employees in the support and promotion of occupational health and
safety in the workplace;
· report or rectify any unsafe conditions that come to your attention;
Consultation and Issue Resolution
The Occupational Health and Safety Committees will:
· be representative of the workforce
· conduct regular meetings
· endeavour to seek solutions to safety issues via consultative processes;
· work with others with responsibilities for managing occupational health and safety in the
workplace
· be responsible for undertaking safety audits
· manage safety projects
· review accidents and take corrective action.
Compliance required
Any employee or contractor who contravenes Toyo Ink safety requirements or regulations shall be required to leave the premises when requested and may be refused re-entry.
